Let us introduce you to Charlotte Boyle. Charlotte is originally a freelance kids clothes designer. She knows Samantha as their kids are in the same class. We reached out to her for help to get our new logo and in that way do a small rebranding of our salon. She started her career in her home country England, doing women’s wear.
She worked for iconic style legends such as Lulu Guinness and Cynthia Rowley. She then found her love of designing children's clothes while working with the ever stylish Lucy Sykes and her children's brand ‘Lucy Sykes Baby’. From there she moved on to Baby Togs where she worked on their private label’s for clients such as Nicole Miller, O’Neill, Dr Seuss, Kmart & Sears. She is now running her own business where she is helping companies large and small with getting the right look, fit and feel of their brand. Her clients include Under the Nile, Jelly the Pug, Nested Bean and now also Shear Serenity Salon. She has also done good by designing a non profit collection for Oja Moon and all the proceeds go into running an orphanage in Katmandu Nepal. The inspiration for the logo came from Samantha's flowers from Heather & Birch that she displays in the salon. It creates a nice atmosphere in the salon, so Sam and Charlotte worked on recreating that also in the logo. We are very proud of the result, and feel like we finally got a logo that represent us and the style we like. Thank you, Charlotte!

Samantha started her business with Stella and Dot in December 15th, 2015 and never looked back. She wanted to carry a fashionable and affordable boutique line in her salon without having to house inventory at the same time, and fell in love with this brand instantly. Stella and Dot is a great company because of the way it supports women in their business. One example is their support of the global charity called “Every Mother Counts”, that is dedicated to make pregnancies and childbirths safe for every mother around the world. Along with supporting amazing charity work, Stella and Dot is a trendy, classic, and always in style line of jewelry with a broad selection of accessories “to give every woman the means to style their own life.” Samantha recommends any women to become a sales representative because of what stella and dot stands for, or just support it by buying beautiful quality pieces, affordable products and classic style. She says Stella and Dot has given her an unique chance to meet new people and form new relationships in the business world and in her personal life. In fact her latest addition to the Stella and Dot team is the salon's very own Jenna Garbus! Check out the latest pieces next time you visit our salon, or contact Samantha directly for more info. Title: Senior Stylist Company: Shear Serenity Salon Social: @hairby_pina Where are you from, and why did you choose to become a stylist? I was born and raised in Nanuet NY. Being that my mom is a hairdresser and my father a barber I grew up being surrounded and watching this profession develop and see relationships between professionals and clients develop. I loved creativity and the satisfaction of making someone’s day brighter just by simply making him or her feel good! How did you end up working at Shear Serenity? About 8 years ago my mom met Samantha in a nail salon and started conversing with her about her salon in Pearl River and about how she was currently looking for a new assistant. My mother ever so kindly offered my assistance and very soon after their conversation I was on the phone calling Samantha in regards to the assistant position…and the rest is history! What is your biggest accomplishment in your career so far? I have a few but my biggest accomplishment aside from others would be mastering my biggest fear of doing men’s haircuts. What is your favorite product right now, and how would you recommend to use it? Right now my favorite product is Semi Di Lino (Alfaparf) Soft mousse. It works great with blowouts, styling, or even when wanting to your leave hair natural. It calms frizz while keeping your style of choice in place without the feeling of product build up and still has enough hold to last you. Do you have an absolute favorite part of your profession? The relationships we get to build with our clients and the satisfaction that comes with making someone happy with the way they look! What would be typical “you” outside of work? Hobbies, activities, etc.? Outside of work I spend most of my time with my baby boy and fiancé. Typically you will either find me cooking and entertaining for friends and family or venturing outdoors looking to experience and try new things… I love a new challenge so I tend to set myself up with new projects from time to time! |
